Episode 17. Lesbian Vampire Killers

This week the Pauls realise they're the last in a long line of vampire slayers but are ultimately disappointed when this amounts to nothing more than being disgusted by penises and living in a state of constant gay panic. Paul is sick and other Paul is exhausted: what better time to kick off a mega-review of the last unforgettable year? Thousands. Literally thousands of better times. But never mind about any of that because it’s time to get positive. They just do make movies like this anymore! Featuring: top tens, the highest-grossers, the two Pauls’ personal highlights delivered via tried-and-tested quickfire, and a lot lot more.

Episode 15. Ghost Rider

This week the Pauls sell their soul for the chance to return to 2007 so they can see Ghost Rider for the first time – then spend the next ten years not thinking about it until they have a stupid idea to start a podcast where they look for the good things in three hundred separate Nicolas Cage movies. Wizard! Featuring: Nicolas Cage, talking about Nicolas Cage, trying very hard not to talk about Nicolas Cage, some unrelated impressions and a decade-long cocaine dependency.

Episode 14. Home Alone 3

This week Liz and Toni over at @avoidbeinghated invited us into their minds for a comedy chat, and when we got there not only were the ladies nowhere to be found but the entire place had been rigged – with hijinks! That’s right: it’s still recommendations month and this week we were dared to find the one good thing about Home Alone 3 before an entire world of pain crashed unconvincingly down about our heads. Featuring: dry bandits, wrong Roger Ebert, getting good and owled, boink! Paul remembers alcohol and the bit where Kevin goes “aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh"

Episode 13. Mother's Day

The Pauls take a break from recommendations month to be brought kicking and screaming into this seasonal film with more characters than War and Peace and none of the content. This one's for the mums! Featuring: Friends Mom, Blonde Mom, Gay Mom, Bar Mom, New Mom, Indian Mom, the Three Million Dollar Mom, Mom Mom, Dad Mom, John Lovmom and a salt and pepper Dad from that good Mom show, Deadmom.

Episode 12. Kangaroo Jack

Apologies for the first five minutes of audio – a craaazy kangaroo showed up and did a rap and then our airwaves got all tangled, so we almost didn’t spot that quasi-stoner comedy lurking in the background. Never fear: it’s still recommendations month and this week we were challenged by Varmints! podcast (@varmintspodcast, blazingcariboustudios.com/varmints) to find the one good thing about Kangaroo Jack, which is a film about a kangaroo apparently. Featuring: Kangaroo Facts®, Manthony Anderson, Outback poetry, an Alan Bennett retrospective and wow, just some really excellent Australian accents, everyone. Good job.

Episode 11. Spanglish

It's recommendations month here at OGT towers and the lovely David Keep of webcomic whatkindofday.com (and our super-rad artwork) threw Spanglish in our big stupid faces! Starring Adam Sandler and Tea Leoni, it promises to be a thrillride of neurotic whingeing and murky morals - basically Woody Allen without the jokes. Thanks Dave! Featuring: Harry Dean Stanton gettin' some, Momma knows nothing, ghost son, Mexicans! typical marital sex scenes and one utterly unholy coupling.

Episode 10. Loving Freddy Got Fingered

Paul really licks at the bone on this one: he thinks Freddy Got Fingered is pretty great and wonders why it was hated by basically everyone else. That's right, every tenth episode at One Good Thing a Paul defends a film that most would think of as pretty flipping rubbish – but they happen to love more than their own children. Featuring: Gaspar Noe, Thomas Vinterberg, Park Chan-Wook, Roger Ebert, Alan Moore and just a couple of sexy boys jerking it with animals - for fun!

Episode 9. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

This week the Pauls take a trip on my neighbour Turturro's catbus of acting gravitas as it plunges them headfirst into Bayhem, a storm of sleaze, sweat and bewbs jiggling over soft fade ins of men in army fatigues having good old arm wrestles and being MEN, who are great. That's right, kids: we're trying to find the one good thing about a Michael Bay film! Hooray! Featuring: What Drug Is My Mom On? an unlikely sequel, a moment of real cinema, a brief moral and the greatest joke of all time.

Episode 8. Paul Blart Mall Cop 2

This week the Pauls move house so haven’t quite set up their ultimate recording situation – sorry – but make up for it by getting real angry trying to find the one good thing about Paul Blart Mall Blart 2 Blart, so there is a bit more swearing than normal. Kind of like listening to a podcast by two deaf old men arguing about a place they’ve never been but have just seen a scary-looking youth reading about it in a magazine, through a window, from a moving train. It's a Valentine's Day treat! Featuring: Blart, the perfect cinematic experience, talking talking talking, blart, Paul’s extremely normal day job, blart, four good jokes, blart, blart, always always talking, laughing at others, blart, our five-star experience of the Wynn Resort, Las Vegas, some good old negging and blart blart blart.
